Job summary

TAFE NSW in Sydney is seeking a full-time Counsellor based at Meadowbank Campus, with travel to other campuses as needed. The role delivers essential counselling to students and provides educational consultancy and staff support to help students succeed.

You are a degree-qualified Counsellor/Social Worker/Psychologist with experience in individual and group counselling, using assessments to identify barriers, and collaborating with teachers and managers to improve outcomes; WWCC required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Counselling, Social Work or Psychology from a tertiary institution.
• Two years relevant counselling experience and three years study in psychology, or equivalent.
• Two years counselling experience in personal, educational or vocational contexts.
• Willingness to travel as required by the role.
• Valid Working with Children Check prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counselling and group work to students on educational, vocational and personal matters.
• Offer educational consultancy and support to staff to improve student outcomes.
• Use assessments to identify barriers and guide appropriate actions for students.
• Collaborate with teachers, coordinators and managers and contribute to staff development.
