Job summary

The Y Victoria invites applicants to join the Discovery Camps traineeship program across six camps in Victoria. You will work full-time or part-time during the traineeship while gaining a Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation and contributing to outdoor education initiatives.

Successful candidates will be energetic, passionate about the outdoors, and aligned with safeguarding and youth-development values. Candidates undergo screening including police and Working with Children checks.

Responsibilities

• Work with the programs team at YMCA Victoria's camps.
• Complete the traineeship while working full-time or part-time and gain the Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation.

The Y Discovery Camps are seeking passionate individuals with an interest in outdoor education to join their intake of trainees in 2027! Work alongside the programs team at our camps, completing a traineeship that allows you to work full-time at our camps, while gaining your Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation.

Traineeship positions are available across each of our six camps, including:

• Anglesea Discovery Camp, by the Great Ocean Road
• Camp Manyung, on the Mornington Peninsula
• Howmans Gap Discovery Camp, in the Falls Creek region
• Lady Northcote Discovery Camp, just outside Bacchus Marsh
• Lake Dewar Discovery Camp, near the Werribee Gorge
• Mt Evelyn Discovery Camp, in the Dandenong Ranges

While working in a fixed-term, full-time or part-time role at one of the above camps, with pay rates determined by the age of successful applicants and level of schooling completed.

Successful candidates will be energetic individuals with a real passion and desire to work outdoors, and interested in a career in outdoor education.
