We have a 3-month role for a Camera Operator/Editor based in our Salvo Studios at Redfern.

Join The Salvation Army's internal video team, creating video content with social impact.

The Camera Operator/Editor handles filming and editing video content that supports the mission of The Salvation Army. The role reports to the Senior Producer and works with an experienced team of video professionals on a wide range of productions, including client testimonies, social media, internal, and fundraising content. Based in our newly renovated Redfern studio space.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Filming video content, including on-location stories, interviews, and studio shoots
  2. Managing all aspects of filming, including audio recording, lighting, and editing, either independently or with the production team
  3. Editing engaging stories and corporate videos
  4. Working in a fast-paced and varied environment
  5. Managing digital archives
  6. Travel and out-of-office work as required
Key Capabilities
  1. Highly organized with a positive attitude and efficient time management
  2. Excellent communication skills and a team player mentality
  3. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and DaVinci Resolve
  4. Ability to operate video cameras (Blackmagic URSA or similar)
  5. Ability to operate lighting and audio equipment
Qualifications and Mandatory Requirements
  1. Relevant technical knowledge from vocational training or professional experience
  2. Interest in producing Christian and social justice content (preferred)
  3. Valid Working with Children check
  4. Valid driver's license and own car (preferred)
  5. National police check
  6. Minimum 5 years' experience in filming and editing a range of videos, including unscripted content
  7. Ability to provide 3 examples of previous work filmed and edited solely by you
