Job summary

GHD in Cairns is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join the Civil, Dams & Water Infrastructure - Water Linear Infrastructure team in 2027. Based in our Cairns office and holding a Mechanical Engineering degree, you'll contribute to the delivery of critical water infrastructure projects across Far North Queensland and Australia.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Willingness to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Interest in water infrastructure and practical project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design and delivery of water infrastructure projects (pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities and mechanical systems).
• Develop mechanical designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, process, electrical and environmental engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
• Perform engineering analysis and modelling using industry-standard software.
• Participate in site visits, inspections and condition assessments across Far North Queensland.
• Contribute to evaluation and specification of pumps, valves, pipelines and mechanical equipment.
• Work with experienced engineers to develop practical, sustainable engineering solutions for clients.
