GHD in Cairns is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Linear Infrastructure team in 2027. Based in Cairns, you will contribute to delivering water infrastructure projects across Far North Queensland while developing your skills in a multidisciplinary environment.

Start dates kick off in February 2027 with a two-year Graduate Development Program designed to support your consulting career with mentorship and peer collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Willingness to work in Cairns on a graduate program.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design and delivery of water infrastructure projects.
• Support development of mechanical designs, calculations, specifications and docs.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, process, electrical and environmental engineers.
• Undertake engineering analysis and modelling using industry-standard tools.
• Participate in site visits, inspections and condition assessments across Far North Queensland.
• Contribute to evaluation, selection and specification of pumps, valves and pipelines.
