Job summary

Polcare in Mount Waverley, VIC is seeking a friendly Café / Kitchen Assistant to join our team. You will support daily kitchen and café operations, prepare meals and beverages, and help maintain a welcoming environment for clients.

Duties include food prep, serving meals and snacks, washing dishes, keeping areas clean, and assisting with catering for meetings and community events.

Casual employment, four days a week, with hours to be discussed.

Qualifications

• Reliable, punctual, and well organised.
• Friendly and approachable with good communication.
• Interest in food preparation and hospitality; prior cafe/kitchen experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with food preparation and basic cooking.
• Preparing and serving meals, snacks, tea and coffee.
• Setting up and clearing tables.
• Washing dishes and maintaining clean kitchen equipment.
• Cleaning and maintaining the kitchen, café and food preparation areas.
• Assisting with receiving, storing and rotating food supplies.
• Following food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Assisting with catering for meetings, activities and community events.
• Supporting the kitchen team with general duties as required.
• Providing friendly and respectful service to clients, visitors and staff.
