Job summary

Ku-ring-gai Fitness & Aquatic Centre – YMCA NSW is seeking a Kiosk Assistant to provide friendly service in a fast-paced cafe/kiosk at the centre. You will handle food preparation, stock, and cash, ensuring compliance with safety standards and a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests.

The role suits someone who thrives in a busy environment, can multitask, and enjoys working with people. CPR certification is essential; food handling certification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience.
• Barista experience.
• Current CPR certificate (essential).
• Desirable: Food handling certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to cafe/kiosk customers in a friendly and timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and professional appearance, including uniform and name badge.
• Build positive, cooperative relationships with customers and team members.
• Assist with food and beverage preparation and baking as required.
• Follow all food handling requirements and legislation, monitor use-by dates and dispose of expired products correctly.
• Help with stock ordering, receiving and stocktakes, and keep shelves and fridges stocked.
• Follow cash handling procedures with 100% accuracy, ensuring the register balances at end of shift.
• Keep the kiosk area clean and hazard-free, with a high standard of presentation.
• Work safely and support WHS requirements, including incident reporting and hazard management.
