Job summary

Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology is seeking a reliable Café All-Rounder to join our team on casual hours, supporting events and busy periods, including irregular Saturdays.

You will balance fast service with a welcoming, calm demeanour as you make excellent coffee, assist with light food prep, cleaning and POS duties.

If you enjoy working in a community-focused environment connected to art and culture, you could help visitors connect with the gallery and museum.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years barista experience desirable.
• Must work well in a team.
• Friendly and welcoming to customers.
• Confident using a Point of Sale system.
• Eligible to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Make excellent coffee and basic food preparation.
• Clean and maintain hygiene in the café.
• Provide table service to cafe customers.
• Operate the point of sale system accurately.
• Assist with stock rotation and café setup for events.

Our cafe exists to compliment our Museum, Art Gallery, tours and education activities. We seek cafe assistants who are engaging, welcoming and able to balance fast service and product delivery with a calm exterior and smiles.

Subject to experience you will be tasked with making excellent coffee, basic food preparation, cleaning, table service, point of sale, stock rotation, and helping create a welcoming experience that connects visitors to the gallery and museum.

About you

• 1 - 2+ years barista experience is highly desirable
