Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking a friendly, reliable Cafe All Rounder to join our fast-paced team in Tullamarine, VIC. This is a hands-on role for someone with cooking or food preparation experience who will assist the Chef, support the Barista and help with cafe operations.

The role offers permanent casual hours with early starts from around 5:30am, and opportunities to develop skills across cooking, coffee, customer service and cafe operations.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking, food preparation or food service experience is required.
• Experience working in a fast-paced cafe or food environment.
• Barista and coffee skills are advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Chef with food preparation and cooking
• Preparing breakfast and lunch items
• Assisting the Barista during busy periods
• Taking customer orders and confidently operating the POS system
• Serving customers and providing friendly, efficient service
• Restocking fridges, food and cafe supplies
• Maintaining clean and organised work areas
• Washing dishes and assisting with general cleaning duties
• Assisting with stock deliveries and general cafe tasks
• Working as part of a small team to ensure the cafe runs smoothly

• Able to work efficiently under pressure
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
• Willing to assist wherever needed - everyone plays a part in keeping the cafe running
• Barista and coffee skills are advantageous but not essential
• Must be able to start early, with shifts commencing from approximately 5:30am
• Own reliable transport preferred
• Australian working rights required

• Monday-Friday approximately 5:30am-2:00pm
• Saturday approximately 5:30am-12:30pm, where required
• Closed on Construction RDOs, Sundays and shutdown weekends
