Job summary

Waverley Council is seeking a Cadet/Graduate Engineer to join the Civil Design team, Major Projects. You will gain hands-on experience delivering civil and infrastructure projects that make a real difference.

This permanent full-time role (35 hours/week) is based at Bondi Junction, with opportunities for professional development and career progression in a supportive, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or in the process of obtaining for Cadet/Graduate level.
• Demonstrated good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge in design and construction of civil and drainage works; surveying experience (Total Station).
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Project with good communication.
• Current NSW Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist delivery of Civil Design projects for Major Projects and Infrastructure services.
• Perform site inspections and assist in site surveys.
• Assist with preparation of design drawings, estimates, reports and calculations.
• Contribute to on-schedule and on-budget delivery.
• General project administration.

The Role

• To assist in the delivery of Civil Design projects for Major Projects, Infrastructure services and Integrated Transport,
• Perform site inspections and assist in site surveys,
• Assist with the preparation of project documentation including design drawings, estimates of cost, reports and calculations,
• Contribute to ensuring work is completed on schedule and within budget, and
• General project administration.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or associated discipline (if applying as Graduate Engineer) or in the process of obtaining tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or associated discipline (if applying as Cadet Engineer).
• Demonstrated good level of communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge in principles of design and construction of civil and drainage works, knowledge in surveying including use of Total Station.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project along with good level of communication and interpersonal skills
• Current NSW Driver’s Licence
• Strong commitment to liaising with the client and team members.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
