Job summary

Hutchies is seeking a motivated Construction Management Cadet to join our Sydney team and undertake a cadetship while completing tertiary studies.

This role is a permanent part-time position (approximately four days per week), offering hands-on experience with one of Australia’s leading construction companies and opportunities to learn from experienced professionals on diverse projects.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or related field, or currently undertaking studies in this discipline.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skill.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently.
  • Strong relationship building with all relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Contracts Administrator with all sub-contract letting.
  • Maintaining and managing project register including variations, EOT, and procurement registers.
  • Assist in preparation of Subcontracts and associated Subcontract documentation.
  • Taking and issuing meeting minutes.
  • Document control.
  • Work closely with the project team, including site personnel.

Job description

Hutchies is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Construction Management Cadet to join our Sydney team and undertake a cadetship while completing their tertiary studies.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a university student to gain hands-on experience with one of Australia's largest and most respected construction companies, working alongside experienced industry professionals on a diverse range of projects.

This role is offered on a permanent part-time basis (typically four days per week), allowing you to balance your university commitments while developing the technical, commercial and project delivery skills required for a successful career in the construction industry.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in Hutchies' Cadet Summer School online program, providing additional learning, development, and networking opportunities alongside practical experience gained in the Sydney office. This is a fantastic opportunity to build industry knowledge and develop a strong foundation for a career in construction.

As a Cadet, your responsibilities will include:
