LiveHire Limited in Mackay is seeking a Cable Repairer to join our operations on a full-time basis. The role provides on-the-job training and a pathway to become a skilled Cable Repairer, with no prior experience required.

You will repair and test reeling, trailing and flexible cables, inspect plugs and couplers, and ensure repaired cables meet safety standards. We welcome hands-on trades assistants and motivated individuals.

Qualifications

• Hands-on or mechanical experience is preferred for Trades Assistant backgrounds.
• Willingness to learn and build a long-term career in cable repair.
• Comfort with using hand tools and working in a workshop/manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Repairing reeling, trailing and flexible cables.
• Testing reeling, trailing and flexible cables.
• Inspecting and fitting plugs and couplers.
• Verifying compliance of repaired cables.
• Provide general Trades Assistant support as required in a workshop setting.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Cable Repairer to join our Mackay operation on a full-time basis.

Our Cable Services team plays a critical role in supporting the mining industry, helping keep operations running safely and efficiently.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Trades Assistant / Skilled Labourer looking to step into a new career pathway. No prior cable repair experience is required. We're open to entry-level candidates with the right attitude and work ethic. You'll receive full on-the-job training and support to develop into a skilled Cable Repairer over time.

About you:

• A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Hands-on or mechanical experience (Trades Assistant backgrounds highly regarded)

• Good attention to detail and confidence using hand tools
• A genuine interest in building a long-term career

• Forklift ticket
• Dogging / Basic Rigging tickets
