You will read drawings, operate various woodworking machines, and work with designers to find practical solutions. A strong eye for detail and a current driver’s licence are beneficial in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Qualifications

Board and Benchtops is seeking a skilled Wood Machinist to join our team in Castle Hill, NSW. This diverse, full-time role will see you working as part of our dynamic customer service, carpentry & cabinet making crew, contributing your expertise to the creation of high-quality custom woodwork. The role will most involve edge banding of cabinetry but may also be required to use a beam saw and other machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Operating and maintaining woodworking machinery to fabricate a variety of custom joinery and cabinetry components
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings to ensure precise and accurate workmanship
• Collaborating with the design team to offer practical solutions and recommendations
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
• Adhering to all relevant safety protocols and quality control processes

About you

• Experience as a Wood Machinist, ideally within a Carpentry & Cabinet Making environment
• Proficient in the use of a range of woodworking machinery and hand tools in particular an edgebander, panel saw and beam saw
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Good problem-solving skills and a collaborative team-focused attitude
• Current driver's licence
