GoodWe in Australia is seeking a motivated C&I Commissioning & Service Engineer to support deployment and operation of our commercial and industrial energy storage and hybrid PV systems.

The role focuses on on-site installation support, system commissioning, troubleshooting, and after-sales technical support, collaborating with installers, project managers, and the technical team to ensure reliable lifecycle operation.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Power Systems, or related field.
• Experience with solar PV or energy storage systems.
• Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, or field service.
• Familiarity with Modbus, RS485, CAN, TCP/IP protocols.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and SLDs.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across Australia.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated and technically capable C&I Commissioning & Service Engineer to support the deployment and operation of our commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage and hybrid PV systems.

This role focuses on on-site installation support, system commissioning, troubleshooting, and after-sales technical support for C&I projects. The engineer will work closely with installers, project managers, and the technical team to ensure systems are installed correctly, commissioned efficiently, and operate reliably throughout their lifecycle.

The position requires a combination of electrical engineering knowledge, field experience, strong problem-solving skills, and familiarity with energy storage system architectures, including battery communication interfaces and protocols (such as CAN, Modbus, RS485, and TCP/IP) used between BMS, PCS, EMS, and monitoring systems.

• 1、Provide technical support and guidance to installers and EPC partners during system installation.
• 2、Responsible for performing the final commissioning phase of C&I energy storage systems, including system configuration, communication verification (BMS/PCS/EMS), Modbus point verification, EMS parameter configuration, functional testing, performance validation, and preparation for project handover.
• 3、Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning or system operation, both on-site and remotely.
• 4、Support system integration and communication setup, including EMS, monitoring platforms, and third-party equipment when required.
• 5、Provide after-sales technical support for C&I systems, including fault diagnosis, service coordination, and maintenance guidance.
• 6、Prepare and maintain commissioning reports, service records, and technical documentation.
• 7、Coordinate with internal engineering teams to provide technical feedback and support continuous product and solution improvement.
• 8、Provide technical assistance or training to installers, partners, or internal teams when required.

• 2、Experience working with solar PV systems, energy storage systems, or power electronics equipment.
• 3、Hands-on experience with system installation, commissioning, or field service work.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, RS485, CAN, or TCP/IP.
• 4、Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams (SLD), and technical drawings.
• 5、Understanding of solar and energy storage system installation practices is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• 6、Ability to work independently on site and communicate effectively with installers, contractors, and project teams.
