About the Role…

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and professional Business Support Officer to join our dynamic team. This is a pivotal role that directly contributes to the accuracy, integrity, and contractual compliance of wage subsidies processed through PULSE and the Departments systems. You will ensure APM are applying integrity, are contractually compliant and are operating within the spirit of the contract at all times.

Location: You can be based at any APM office within the Ipswich, QLD region

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all wage subsidy claims are processed with precision and efficiency, in alignment with departmental guidelines, to prevent errors and mitigate potential revenue loss.
  • Adhere strictly to all processes and policies relevant to your designated focus area, always maintaining consistency and compliance.
  • Deliver high-quality support to Operations teams and Employers participating in the wage subsidy program, ensuring all interactions meet required timeframes and service standards.
  • Maintain clear, professional, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations and positive outcomes.
  • Identify and escalate any instances or emerging patterns of non-compliance to the direct manager for timely resolution and risk mitigation.
  • Sustain a comprehensive understanding of Employment Services contracts to ensure accurate application of guidelines and informed decision-making.
  • Contribute proactively to the enhancement of organisational systems and processes, aiming to boost employee efficiency, effectiveness, and overall productivity in support of quality participant outcomes.
  • Actively seek and implement improved methods to assist colleagues and participants, fostering a culture of innovation and teamwork.
  • Assist Operations in investigating and resolving customer concerns within designated timeframes, ensuring satisfactory outcomes and service recovery.
  • Execute all responsibilities in accordance with the Employment Services – Business Support Officer Operating Guide, maintaining high standards of professionalism and accountability.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • A minimum of six (6) months’ recent experience working within the Employment Services sector.
  • A sound understanding of the DES or Workforce Australia contractual framework, including an awareness of wage subsidy and compliance processes (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgement, discretion, and initiative, particularly when handling sensitive or complex placement matters.
  • A strong commitment to accuracy, quality assurance, and data integrity across all work undertaken.
  • Excellent time management, organisational, and prioritisation skills, with the capacity to meet competing deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to task execution.
