Northern Land Council in Darwin is seeking a dedicated Business Support Officer to assist the People and Culture team with daily HR administration and record keeping. You will respond to walk-in enquiries, maintain files, and help ensure policies and forms are up to date.
The role emphasizes confidentiality, cross-cultural communication, and service excellence to Aboriginal communities in the NLC region. A base salary and generous leave are included.

As the Business Support Officer, you will provide practical day-to-day support to the People and Culture team, with a particular focus on administration, record keeping and responsive employee service. You will be the first point of contact for walk-in enquiries, respond to straightforward employment questions, maintain the shared P&C inboxes, assist with personnel file reviews and help ensure policies, procedures, forms and guidance material remain current and accessible.
You will be an organised and approachable HR administrator who enjoys helping people, keeps accurate records and can manage competing priorities without losing attention to detail. You will communicate clearly with employees and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, exercise sound judgement when handling sensitive information, and understand when an enquiry can be resolved directly or should be referred for specialist advice. Your commitment to respectful, culturally informed service will be central to your success in the role.
