The Role

The Business Support Officer will report to the Deputy Registrar General (and at times the Registrar-General) and will be responsible for assisting the Registrar-General in meeting the requirements of the Land Titles Office retained functions at commercialisation. The role is responsible for assisting the Deputy Registrar-General with cabinet, ministerial and ORG enquiries, preparing briefings, preparation and ongoing management of procedures and work instructions, managing statutory instruments, drafting notices and correspondence.

  • Assist the Contract Manager and Compliance Officer in fulfilling obligations under the Land Services Agreement by coordinating activities, tracking deliverables, and ensuring efficient execution of compliance and governance tasks.
  • Aid the Registrar-General in meeting statutory and ministerial obligations by preparing high-quality submissions, briefings, reports, and official correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review, update, and oversee the publication of statutory instruments, notices to lodging parties, and customer information bulletins to ensure consistency, accuracy, and accessibility.
  • Provide support to government agencies and affiliated organisations in accessing land services data, recording property interests, and understanding the statutory and regulatory requirements of the Property Interest Report.
  • Track progress of minor enhancement requests and substantial enhancement statements of work, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met and that clear next steps are documented and communicated.
About You

To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:

  • Knowledge of land services and the operation of the ORG (Desirable).
  • Comprehensive understanding of contractual, governance and compliance frameworks.
  • Understanding of Land Administration Systems and Land Information Assets available through SAILIS and overseen by the ORG.
  • Expertise in the drafting of Ministerial, Cabinet and Organisational correspondence that meets Government and external expectations.
  • Experience in writing policies, procedures and work instructions, Ministerials, briefings and Cabinet documents.
Special Conditions

Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.

Remuneration

ASO5 $85,790 p.a min $95,413 p.a max.
