Job summary

IMC is seeking a proactive Business Intelligence Analyst to join the BP&A team. You will partner with Trading, Finance, Mid Office and HR to deliver analytics that inform decisions across Sydney, Amsterdam and global teams.

You’ll develop and maintain BI reports, design data models, and automate ETL processes in Python and Qlik/Tableau/Power BI environments. Strong Python, SQL and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics or other quantitative background.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in data analysis / business intelligence.
• Strong Python experience (commercial preferred).
• Experience developing business reporting apps (Tableau, Power BI, QlikView/Qlik Sense).
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling fundamentals.
• Experience with Git and JIRA for version control and issue tracking.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Interest in finance processes and business collaboration.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Execute and implement all (Global) BP&A aspects of strategic company projects.
• Develop databases, maintain ETL processes, and automate data flows (ETLs in Python, JSON, Qlik).
• Develop and maintain reports in BI tools aligned with business needs.
• Manage the data and reporting pipeline from development to production.

IMC is currently looking for an energetic and team-oriented Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Business Planning & Analysis (BP&A) Team. The BP&A Team is responsible for reporting and analytics across all teams at IMC including Trading, Finance, Mid Office, and HR. You will work together to understand their needs and provide them with meaningful insights through data analysis and reporting. As a BP&A team member, you will create reporting and analysis that has a global impact. Your projects will include collaboration with teammates in both our Sydney and Amsterdam offices. Together, you will analyze big data and extract valuable information, making it readily available in the decision making process. You will also get the benefit of seeing the full data cycle from extraction to modelling, visualization and, and finally presenting the results.

The ideal candidate acts as a true partner to the business and is both technical and business-savvy, displaying strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

You will be responsible for:

• Execution and implementation of all (Global) BP&A aspects of strategic company projects.
• Database development, maintenance, ETL process improvement and automation (ETLs mainly in python, json, qlik (bnf)).
• Report development and maintenance in BI tooling in line with business requirements.
• Managing the pipeline from development to production for the data and reporting layers.

You will act as a true partner to all areas of the business in our Sydney office - working across all departments in the business to identify and collect requirements to support any analysis / reporting needs.

We strive to create cohesive global teams and in addition to the local team in Sydney, you will closely collaborate with teams in Amsterdam and Chicago.

You’ll likely bring to the table:

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics or other quantitative backgrounds (Preferred).
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in data analysis / business intelligence.
• Strong Python commercial experience (PyCharm experience preferred but not essential).
• Experience with developing business reporting applications (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Qlikview / Qlik Sense).
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with Git and JIRA preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in and preferably exposure to finance processes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong business acumen, and someone who thrives within a dynamic, quickly changing environment.
