Job summary

Air Liquide Australia is seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to drive growth for NSW & ACT, taking full ownership of expanding our market presence and securing long-term strategic contracts across industrial and energy sectors.

You will own market expansion, build networks across industry, lead end-to-end proposals, and negotiate profitable supply agreements, supported by world-class training and our global backing.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of proven success in technical sales, commercial business development, or key account management within industrial, energy, or engineering services.
• Strong capability in commercial negotiation, financial proposal structuring, and managing complex stakeholder matrices.
• Solution-focused, consultative style with the agility to translate client engineering requirements into compelling business cases.
• Growth-oriented and proactive in hunting new business to achieve quarterly targets.

• Market Analysis & Strategic Positioning: Analyze competitor dynamics, industry trends, and market gaps across NSW to shape our long-term growth objectives and target high-value sector opportunities.
• Pipeline Creation & Network Expansion: Execute proactive development plans to discover new accounts, building strong networks across commercial enterprises, key industry bodies, and regulatory agencies.
• End-to-End Technical & Commercial Solutions: Partner with client decision-makers to translate operational needs into tailored technical and commercial project proposals, guiding deals from concept through to formal agreement.
• High-Stakes Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations to close profitable, complex long-term supply contracts, providing commercial oversight during project delivery.
• Strategic Account Retention & Growth: Manage key client relationships, defend Air Liquide’s customer base, resolve commercial challenges, and collaborate with Account Managers to maximize lifetime customer value.
