We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Commercial team in Sydney, reporting to the State Commercial Manager.

In this role, you will drive sales growth across the Commercial market segments across NSW /ACT by delivering exceptional service and building strong, strategic relationships. You will proactively engage with key decision-makers in the specification market, including Strata Managers, Builders, Project Managers, Interior Designers, and other stakeholders involved in the management of commercial properties.

Your focus will be on expanding our valued customer base by offering a comprehensive end-to-end coatings project service. Success in this role will be achieved through fostering influential connections between our broader sales team and key customer contacts, ensuring seamless execution and delivery of commercial projects.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Drive Sales and Growth: Achieve sales, profit, and growth targets by engaging with facility managers and other key stakeholders involved in commercial property management.
  • Customer-Centric Solutions: Develop and deliver a compelling customer service proposition that aligns with PPG’s brand strategy and enhances customer satisfaction.
  • Project Delivery Excellence: Expand our existing customer base by providing a comprehensive, end-to-end coatings project service, ensuring seamless execution from specification through to completion.
  • Strategic Relationship Management: Build and maintain influential relationships with key decision-makers, including builders, project managers, interior designers, and strata managers, to secure long-term partnerships.
  • Market Influence: Establish a strong presence with key influencers in the specification market to position PPG Taubmans as the preferred coatings partner for commercial projects.
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Implement targeted specification and sales strategies to meet both short-term objectives and long-term business goals.
  • Values-Driven Performance: Operate in alignment with PPG’s corporate values, fostering a culture of integrity, innovation, and customer focus.
Requirements
  • Proven Sales Experience: Demonstrated success in a sales or business development role, ideally within the coatings, construction, or building materials industries.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in architectural coatings, specification services, or commercial building segments is highly desirable.
  • Market Insight: Minimum of 1 year experience with a solid understanding of commercial market dynamics, customer drivers, and evolving industry needs.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong business development mindset with a passion for identifying new opportunities and delivering measurable results.
  • Relationship Builder: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-Motivated: A proactive and goal-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
