Job summary

Bank of Melbourne is seeking a Business Development Manager in Melbourne to strengthen broker partnerships and drive loan opportunities. You will manage a portfolio of brokers, educate on products and lender policies, and keep deals moving through the credit process.

You will network extensively, host events, and develop business plans to maintain a healthy, growing pipeline in a hybrid work environment. The role rewards autonomy and performance within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Business Development Manager, Credit Assessor, Broker or Lender role.
• Experience / networks in the Home Lending / Broker space.
• Comfortable and flexible to attend / host networking events – both in-person and virtually.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage a fast-paced pipeline and achieve targets.
• Skilled in developing mutually beneficial relationships with external partners.

Responsibilities

• Manage and expand an active broker portfolio.
• Develop strong broker relationships whilst providing policy and product education as well as coaching on loan structuring.
• Troubleshoot pipeline issues, assist in mobilising deals through the credit process and provide solutions / escalations for complex scenarios.
• Host and attend networking events including webinars, coffee clusters and broker development days.
• Create business plans, hold regular strategy catch-ups and maintain a rolling applications pipeline.

What’s the role?

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be the key link between Bank of Melbourne and our mortgage broker partners – ensuring that they understand and trust our value proposition and actively promote Bank of Melbourne to their clients. You’ll work closely with a core group of active brokers whilst tapping into a broader opportunity pool, ultimately holding responsibility for broker NPS and settlement targets through the management and maintenance of these relationships!
