Job summary

Machines4U, part of carsales, seeks an energetic Sales lead to drive business development and vendor relationships across key industrial categories. You will manage inbound inquiries, negotiate deals, and build a strong sales pipeline while coordinating with internal teams to ensure professional listings and timely communications.

The role demands 5+ years in sales or BD, excellent communication and presentation skills, and a robust industry network.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of equipment valuations and machinery market pricing.
  • Experience managing high-value B2B sales opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure new opportunities across key industrial categories (Construction, Transport, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Material Handling, Metalworking/Woodworking).
  • Attend customer meetings, site visits and industry events; develop healthy pipeline.
  • Manage vendor relationships and pricing expectations; assist with listing strategy and marketing positioning.
  • Handle inbound buyer enquiries; negotiate offers and drive transactions to closure.
  • Maintain CRM records, provide weekly forecasting and pipeline commentary; participate in sales meetings.

Job Description
What you’ll be doing
Business Development & Prospecting
  • Identify and secure new opportunities across key industrial categories including:
    • Construction & Earthmoving
    • Transport & Trucks
    • Agriculture & Farming
    • Manufacturing & Industrial Equipment
    • Material Handling
    • Metalworking & Woodworking Machinery
  • Conduct outbound prospecting and relationship development activities.
  • Attend customer meetings, site visits and industry events as required.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with dealers, contractors, fleet owners and industrial businesses.
Vendor Relationship Management
  • Manage vendor relationships throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Condition vendors on realistic market pricing and market expectations.
  • Assist customers with listing strategy, equipment presentation and marketing positioning.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers regarding enquiry activity, pricing feedback and sales progress.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure listings are uploaded accurately and professionally.
Sales & Negotiation
  • Manage inbound buyer enquiries and sales opportunities.
  • Negotiate offers and assist in facilitating successful transactions.Drive urgency and movement on aged listings.
  • Work closely with the Deals Desk and Account Management teams to maximise lead conversion.
  • Ensure all buyer and vendor communication is handled professionally and within agreed service levels.
CRM, Reporting & Administration
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline reporting.
  • Achieve agreed activity KPIs including calls, meetings and listing targets.
  • Provide weekly forecasting updates and pipeline commentary.
  • Ensure all customer interactions and sales activities are documented appropriately.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings and performance reviews.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in sales, business development or account management.
