About the role

As a Federal Business Development Executive, you’ll drive impact, champion ClearanceJobs’ federal strategy, and help expand our footprint in the public sector.

Why we’re hiring

We are hiring a Federal Business Development Executive to lead our go-to-market strategy across the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and key civilian agencies. This role focuses on driving measurable growth, shaping procurement priorities, and winning contracts that connect the government with cleared talent.

Responsibilities
  • Own Federal Pipeline Growth: Identify and qualify at least 20 high-value federal opportunities with defined probability of win (Pwin).
  • Strategic Capture Leadership: Prioritize 3 strategic deals ($20M+), build capture plans, and shape acquisition strategies.
  • Agency Engagement: Build trusted relationships across at least 5 new agencies; lead 25+ meetings with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Proposal Excellence: Oversee 5+ compliant, compelling proposals per year, ensuring on-time submission and alignment with RFPs.
  • Win Big: Drive a proposal win rate of 20% or higher, resulting in $5M+ in new annual contract value.
  • Lead from the Front: Manage the Policy Advisory Board with executive-level visibility; brief internal leadership on strategic pursuits.
What you bring to the team

Required:

  • Extensive experience in federal business development, capture, or proposal leadership roles
  • Proven success winning large-scale federal contracts ($20M+)
  • Experience working with DoD, IC, or federal civilian agencies
  • Deep knowledge of federal procurement, capture strategy, and RFP development
  • Strong executive presence, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and develop partner strategies
  • Ability to travel regularly to events

Preferred:

  • Candidate will be located in the Mid-Atlantic Region (DC, Virginia, Maryland)
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, CMMC, or IL2 requirements
  • Established network within defense or national security sectors
  • Experience influencing RFP language and acquisition strategy
  • Partnership with channels like Carahsoft
Compensation and benefits

Remote (US only) pay range: Base salary plus commissions at 100% of plan targets. Offer will depend on location and level of job-related knowledge, skills, abilities and experience. Salary range: $280,000 - $340,000 USD.
