The Opportunity

ElectraNet is seeking a Business Development Advisor and Business Development Representative to support the identification, securing, and winning of new business opportunities, including connection services, build, own, operate and maintain (BOOM) projects, and other commercial ventures. As a part of this role, you will:

  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, bids, and transactions for new business opportunities.
  • Support the development of contracts and agreements.
  • Develop an understanding of business processes and technical capabilities.
  • Proactively engage and collaborate with key technical advisors and project managers to develop commercial agreements that meet technical and regulatory constraints.
  • Seek out and contribute to the development of improvement initiatives.

About You

The successful candidate will be a motivated and proactive individual with a strong customer focus and excellent communication skills. They will also:

  • Have a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as trade, engineering, commerce, business, or project management (essential).
  • Be self-driven and determined to get the right answer that matches commercial customer needs with technical business capabilities.
  • Demonstrate the flexibility to tackle new challenges, change direction quickly, manage multiple competing demands, and cope with stressors.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have an upbeat and ‘can-do' attitude, displaying a desire to absorb new information and tasks, as well as jump in and support team members on a broad range of activities.
  • Have experience in contract administration/management or customer-facing roles.
  • Have the ability to prepare and analyse data.
  • Experience in a role within the electricity or other regulated industry governed by complex rules is highly desirable.
