Jetstar Airways is seeking a Business Data & Semantic Layer Manager to lead enterprise data model development and governance in Melbourne. You will enable trusted reporting, analytics and AI-driven decision-making by standardising metrics and data definitions across the organisation.

Competenze

• 7+ years of analytics engineering, data modelling, BI or enterprise data management experience.
• Advanced SQL skills with hands-on dbt, testing, documentation and version control.
• Strong experience with Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms.
• Power BI data modelling experience including DAX, star schema, incremental refresh and RLS.
• Ability to translate complex concepts into practical business outcomes.

We are seeking a Business Data & Semantic Layer Manager to lead the development and governance of our enterprise data model, ensuring the business has access to trusted, consistent and high-quality data. This role is responsible for managing the organisation's certified semantic layer, enabling accurate reporting, analytics, self-service insights and AI-driven decision-making. Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, you will establish data standards, drive governance practices and ensure key business metrics are aligned across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development and management of the enterprise semantic layer and certified data models
• Establish and maintain consistent business definitions, metrics and data standards across the organisation
• Drive data governance activities and facilitate stakeholder forums to align business requirements
• Partner with business and technical teams to improve data quality, consistency and accessibility
• Oversee data modelling, testing, certification and documentation processes
• Support self-service reporting and analytics capabilities, including Power BI and other reporting platforms
• Provide leadership and guidance on best practices in analytics engineering and data management
• Ensure data foundations support emerging AI and conversational analytics capabilities
• Monitor and continuously improve the accuracy, reliability and performance of business data assets
• 7+ years experience in analytics engineering, data modelling, business intelligence or enterprise data management
• Advanced SQL skills and hands‑on experience with dbt, including testing, documentation, version control and release practices
• Strong experience working with Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms
• Deep understanding of semantic layer design, dimensional modelling and data warehousing concepts
• Strong Power BI data modelling experience, including DAX, star schema design, incremental refresh and row-level security
• Demonstrated experience establishing and enforcing data quality, certification or governance standards
• Experience influencing stakeholders and resolving conflicting business definitions across multiple business areas.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, with experience leading cross-functional forums and workshops.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical business outcome
