Qualifications

• Extensive experience in business banking and lending, with a strong focus on SME and commercial customers.
• Demonstrated experience in a relationship management role, with the proven ability to build, grow and retain successful customer portfolios.
• Strong commercial acumen, lending assessment and credit structuring skills, with the ability to develop tailored banking solutions.
• Sound financial analysis skills, including the ability to interpret financial information and assess business performance.
• Exceptional relationship-building, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and stakeholders.
• Strong judgement and decision-making capability, with a customer-focused approach and commitment to delivering exceptional service.
• Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and CRM systems; tertiary qualifications in business, banking or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage relationships with existing business banking customers, identifying opportunities to grow lending, transaction banking and deposit portfolios.
• Develop new business opportunities through customer networks, referrals and target business banking segments.
• Structure tailored lending solutions that meet customer needs and align with the bank’s credit policies and risk requirements.
• Proactively manage and grow a portfolio of SME and commercial customers, focusing on portfolio quality, retention and sustainable growth.
• Develop and maintain strong industry and sector knowledge to provide informed advice and banking solutions.
• Collaborate with the broader Business Banking team to improve processes, share knowledge and enhance customer experiences.
• Contribute to team capability through coaching, knowledge sharing and support for training initiatives.
• Represent the bank at customer meetings, networking events and industry forums, ensuring all activities are conducted in line with relevant legislation, industry standards and organisational policies.
