Job summary

Cuscal is seeking a skilled Business Analyst – Payments to lead complex payments initiatives across Cards and real-time settlement. You will translate business needs into actionable user stories, drive discovery, and partner with product, technology and clients to deliver value.

Ideal candidates will have deep payments expertise, experience with cards switching, NPP and messaging standards, and a proven ability to work in enterprise environments using data-driven approaches.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in cards switch processing
• Hands-on knowledge of AS2805/ISO8583 messaging
• Experience setting up debit, credit and prepaid card products
• Understanding of dual message processing
• Knowledge of card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, eftpos) and scheme compliance
• Experience with New Payments Platform (NPP)
• Understanding of PayID, PayTo, CoP and PACs messaging
• Familiarity with SWIFT messaging standards
• Expert in requirements gathering and documentation
• Strong skills in process mapping, gap analysis and technical specifications
• Ability to lead workshops and drive stakeholder alignment
• Proven experience working with technical teams in agile environments
• Strong data analysis skills including SQL and Oracle
• Exposure to digital wallets and tokenisation
• Experience with financial crime/fraud systems in Cards or NPP

As a Business Analyst – Payments, you’ll play a critical role in delivering complex payments solutions across Cards and real-time payments.

You’ll work closely with product, technology and client teams to define requirements, drive discovery and translate business needs into actionable outcomes that deliver value to our clients and their customers.

You’ll make an impact by:

• Translating requirements into clear user stories with acceptance criteria
• Producing high-quality artefacts including process maps, gap and impact analysis
• Supporting delivery teams through refinement and solution design

About you:

You’re an experienced Business Analyst with deep payments expertise and the ability to navigate complex, enterprise environments.

Must have experience:

• Strong experience in cards switch processing
• Hands-on knowledge of AS2805 / ISO8583 messaging
• Experience setting up debit, credit and prepaid card products
• Solid understanding of dual message processing
