Job summary

Tasmanian Walking Company is seeking an enthusiastic Bushwalking Guide for the Three Capes Walk in Tasmania. This casual, entry-level role focuses on guest safety, storytelling, and delivering unforgettable wilderness experiences.

You will identify hazards, prepare guests, complete trip reports, and share knowledge about landscape, wildlife and culture. Training starts Sep 1 or Nov 1, 2026, with a diverse, inclusive team and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Wilderness First Aid certification required (SISSS00126).
• CPR certification (HLTAID009) valid within 12 months.
• RSA certification (SITHFAB021) valid in the state of work.
• Food safety certification (SITXFSA005) required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage hazards; maintain safety knowledge.
• Ensure guests are prepared and well equipped for trips.
• Complete accurate trip documentation and reports.
• Share stories and interpretive knowledge about landscape, wildlife and culture.
• Maintain guest safety throughout each trip.
• Keep guest accommodation and shared spaces clean and presentable.

This opportunity is specifically for Bushwalking Guide roles on our Three Capes Walk in Tasmania.

About the role:

As a Guide, you will create safe, engaging and memorable experiences for guests, helping them step out of everyday life and into extraordinary wilderness environments.

• Identify and manage potential hazards and maintain strong knowledge of safety procedures and equipment
• Ensure all guests are prepared and well equipped for their trip
• Complete accurate trip documentation, including trip reports, hazard identification and incident reporting
• Share engaging stories and interpretive knowledge about the landscape, wildlife, history and cultural significance of the area
• Maintain a strong focus on guest safety throughout each trip
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation across guest accommodation and shared spaces

About you:

• Relevant bush walking experience and a good knowledge of the National Parks the walk is situated in
• Demonstrable knowledge and ability to provide interpretation about the area, the flora, fauna, and history to guests
• Well-developed customer service, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
• Hospitality experience; cooking, food preparation, presentation, and service
• Current Wilderness First Aid (SISSS00126)
• Current Provide CPR (HLTAID009) *must be valid within 12 months*
• Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB021) * to be certified in the state you will be working in*
• Use hygiene practices for food safety, or equivalent (SITXFSA005)

Successful candidates must be available to attend training commencing on either 1 September or 1 November 2026.
