Maryland Rural Development Corporation is seeking a dedicated MRDC Bus Driver to transport Head Start children safely and on schedule. You will ensure proper seat belt and child restraint use, monitor student health, and cooperate with families to optimize bus routes.

The role requires a clean driving record, a valid CDL with Bus and Passenger endorsements, and the ability to pass required physicals and background checks. Hourly compensation reflects the responsibilities and schedule.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have current CDL with Bus and Passenger endorsements.
• Must pass a DOT annual physical and TB test.
• Must pass a criminal background check in MD and surrounding states.

Responsabilités

• Transport assigned children to and from Head Start centers safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all passengers wear seat belts or proper car seats and are belted.
• Address behavioral issues to maintain child safety on the bus.
• Deliver each child to a responsible adult on the authorized list.
• Ensure no child is left unattended on the bus and follow safety procedures.

The MRDC Bus Driver Provides Safe Bus Transportation For Head Start Children, Assuring That Each Child Is Picked Up And Delivered On Schedule Daily. Bus Drivers

• Transport assigned children to and from Head Start centers efficiently and safely.
• Ensure that all passengers wear seat belts or are placed in appropriate (age or weight) car seats and belted in.
• Ensure that any behavioral issues do not compromise the safety of any child on the bus.
• Ensure that each child is delivered to the care of a responsible adult (on the authorized list) upon leaving the bus.
• Ensure that no child is ever left unattended while on the bus, following all procedures put in place to prevent a child being left behind.
• Visually observe the health of each child on the bus.
• Collaborate with Site Supervisor and families to design efficient bus routes.

Requirements

• Must have, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED.
• Must have current CDL with Bus and Passenger endorsements.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Must successfully complete a D.O.T annual physical, and a physical with TB test.
• Must pass a criminal background check in MD and surrounding states.

Hourly Rate of Pay: $20.47
