Job description

Genuinely hands-on leadership role where you’ll lead from the front

Lead and support a small Front of House and Office Support team

Support the delivery of workplace operations, contractors and services at our Southbank Head Office

We bring the energy!

Through purpose and people -not just through the infrastructure we operate, but through the way we show up for each other, our customers’ and our communities. The future of energy is in our hands. Let’s shape it together.

We’re looking for an exceptional Building Services Office Lead to join our Building Services team and support the delivery of workplace operations at our Corporate Head Office in Southbank.

Reporting to the Building Services Manager, you'll lead our Front of House and Office Support team while providing day-to-day operational support across workplace services, contractor coordination and office operations.

Lead the workplace. Support the team. Roll up your sleeves.

Working closely with the Building Services Manager, you'll help ensure workplace services are delivered efficiently, professionally and in line with business expectations. This is a genuinely hands-on working team leader role.

While you’ll lead and develop our Front of House and Office Assistant team, you’ll also remain actively involved in the day-to-day operations by remaining hands-on in the day to day operations of the building. Whether it’s providing reception coverage, assisting with office administration, supporting office mailroom activities, coordinating contractors or resolving workplace issue, you’ll be comfortable rolling up your sleeves, getting involved wherever needed.

If you’re looking for a role that is purely strategic or focused solely on managing from behind a desk, this isn’t the role for you. We’re looking for someone who enjoys leading by example, building strong relationships and being close to the day-to- day operation.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll support the delivery of workplace operations and services by:

Supporting the Building Services Manager in the delivery of workplace operations, services, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Leading, coaching and supporting the Front of House and Office Support team to deliver exceptional service.

Ensuring Front of House and Office Support and workplace services continue to run smoothly during planned and unexpected absences.

Acting as a key point of contact for workplace issues and enquiries and service requests, providing practical and timely solutions.

Coordinating contractors, vendors and service providers, including performance management, compliance, inspections and service reviews.

Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, Building Management and our Security, Technology and People teams.

Identifying opportunities to improve processes, service delivery and the overall workplace experience.

Supporting operational budgeting, forecasting and cost-management activities.

Managing the corporate electricity account portfolio, reporting requirements and procurement activities.

Managing the PPE portfolio, including reporting, supplier performance and contract administration. Working closely with the HS&E team regarding product approvals.

Supporting workplace projects, office moves and business initiatives as required.

Maintaining a safe, professional, welcoming and high performing workplace environment.

What we’re looking for

You'll be a highly capable workplace, facilities or corporate services professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys balancing people leadership with operational delivery.

You’ll bring:

Experience in workplace operations, facilities management, corporate services or a similar environment

The ability to lead, motivate and support a small team while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day operations.

Strong contractor, vendor and service provider management skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships.

A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving.

Strong customer service, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with experience preparing reports, presentations and operational insights.

The AusNet experience is all about…
