Job summary

Strathfield Council is seeking a Building Maintenance Officer - Painter to maintain and improve Council-owned buildings, facilities and assets through professional painting, decorating and surface maintenance services. You will plan and coordinate works, source materials and ensure safety compliance.

The role requires a trade licence in painting, relevant qualifications, and a proactive, customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Qualified painter with trade licence and relevant experience in building maintenance.
• Experience in painting, decorating and surface coatings for buildings.
• Ability to prepare estimates, quotations and manage materials and costs.

Responsibilities

• Undertake painting, decorating, varnishing and surface preparation across Council buildings and facilities.
• Inspect surfaces, read drawings, determine materials and methods.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and source materials to meet schedules.
• Prepare reports on work completed and maintain records of costs.
