Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an experienced Building Consultant to join our Building Consultancy team in Sydney. You will provide technical building and asset advice across diverse sectors, deliver detailed reports, and guide maintenance and CAPEX planning.

You will manage refurbishment and repair projects, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery while building strong client relationships and mentoring juniors.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Building Surveying, Building Engineering, Asset Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management.
• Professional accreditation such as RICS, CIOB, Engineers Australia or AIQS is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Conduct building condition assessments and technical due diligence inspections.
• Assess asset condition, compliance, performance, risk and functionality.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and strategic recommendations.
• Develop maintenance, repair and CAPEX forecasts.
• Produce asset management plans and lifecycle strategies.
• Prepare scopes of work for repairs, upgrades and refurbishment projects.
• Manage refurbishment, replacement and repair projects from initiation to completion.
• Coordinate consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, budgets and outcomes.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.
• Build strong client relationships and provide practical, commercially focused advice.
• Support proposal and business development activities and mentor junior team members.

What You'll Be Doing

What You'll Bring

Qualifications

Degree qualification in: Building Surveying Building Engineering Asset Engineering Architecture Construction Management Or a related discipline. Professional accreditation such as: RICS CIOB Engineers Australia AIQS will be highly regarded.
