Job summary

Civil Services Group, a specialist Civil Project Management and Delivery Company in Queensland, seeks Building Construction Project Managers for multiple Queensland projects. You will lead construction from a contractor’s perspective, manage budgets, resources and schedules, and liaise with clients.

Ideal candidates hold a Building Trade Qualification with drivers licence; QBCC licence is an advantage. Some roles may require travel within South East QLD and occasional NSW work.

Qualifications

• Building trade qualification and valid driver's licence required.
• Experience in commercial building construction management.
• Knowledge of Australian Building Code specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage building projects during construction from a contractor's perspective.
• Oversee budgeting, programming, expenditure, resources and priorities.
• Manage labour, equipment, materials and subcontractors within budget/time.
• Conduct contract management including client liaison.
• Procure building materials and services within guidelines.
• Implement PM systems per regulations and processes.
• Submit reports to management within timeframes.
• Train staff on specs and construction processes.
• Contribute to bid estimation processes.
• Apply knowledge of PM systems including safety and environment.

Building Construction Project Managers - BNE

We are regularly tendering forCivil Projects right across Queensland and seeking expressions of interest from people to join us in submissions and capable of committing to assignments (if successful) for an initial periods of approximately 6 to 12 months with a possibility of ongoing extensions and other projects.

Mandatory Requirements. Commercial Building Construction experience will be required to manage & lead projects, during the construction phase from a contractor's standpoint which would include the need to be competent with the following areas.

• Budgeting, programming, monitoring expenditure, controlling resources & reviewing priorities.
• Manage Labour, Equipment, Materials and Subcontract within budget and time constraints.
• Undertaking various contract management activities including client liaison.
• Procurement of building materials and project services within guidelines.
• Implement Project Management systems in accordance with regulations & processes.
• Submit reports and provide information to management within timeframes.
• Train and guide project staff on specifications and construction processes.
• Contribute to the estimating process for bids or offers.
• Strong experience & knowledge of Australian Building Code Technical Specifications,
• Working knowledge of MYOB Advanced Construction, Autodesk Construction, Premier, Expert Project, Contractor Foreman, InEight, Fieldwire, Buildxact, Procore or other similar project management packages,
• Strong written, verbal communication & computer literacy skills,
• Experience with Project Management Systems, including Safety and Environment.

Qualifications / Accreditations A Building Trade Qualification and current open/valid drivers licence – are mandatory. Any Post-Trade Project Management courses &/or QBCC Licence an advantage.

Proposed hours are nominally 38 p/week, however some longer hours & weekend work may be required. Most likely based around South East QLD or Northern NSW, however some work away in regional or remote locations may be required depending on requirements. You must have the right to work in Australia, prior experience working on Australian projects with well-developed interpersonal and consultative skills
