Job summary

Task Recruitment is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer - Test Automation for Brisbane. You will own end-to-end quality in a sophisticated mining OT software platform, designing and executing automated tests across UI, API, and backend services.

The role emphasizes risk-based testing, CI/CD integration, and collaboration with engineers and product teams. The position is a hands-on, 12+ month opportunity based in Brisbane with a 5-day-per-week office requirement and flexible start/finish times.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience in QA or software testing.
• Experience with Playwright and Cucumber/BDD.
• Proficient in TypeScript/JavaScript and Java.
• Hands-on REST API testing experience.
• Experience building and maintaining automated test suites.
• Familiar with CI/CD and GitHub Actions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Eligible to work in Australia and Brisbane office

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end quality for user stories from test approach through sign-off.
• Create and maintain test plans, manual and automated tests.
• Design, build and maintain automated tests across UI, API and backend.
• Test REST APIs and RBAC scenarios.
• Develop automation frameworks using Playwright and Cucumber.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Plan regression, acceptance and exploratory testing.
• Support test environment readiness and data management.
• Investigate defects and improve test stability.
• Promote shift-left testing and quality status reporting
