Brisbane City Council is seeking a Senior Manager, City Policy and Local Laws to lead policy development across housing, transport, and economic development, ensuring regulatory frameworks are practical and aligned with city priorities.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, provide strategic advice to executives and elected representatives, and drive evidence-based policy from concept through to implementation in a politically sensitive environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in developing complex policies or legislation.
• Ability to translate strategic priorities into practical policy outcomes within a regulated environment.
• Experience advising senior executives and elected representatives on policy matters.

Responsabilités

• Lead development and review of citywide policies, regulatory frameworks and local laws.
• Provide strategic policy and legislative advice to Council executives and elected representatives.
• Strengthen cross-Council collaboration to ensure policies are practical and evidence-based.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary policy team.
• Oversee regulatory governance and statutory processes to ensure compliance and responsiveness.
