Job summary

UGL is seeking an experienced HSSE Advisor to own safety outcomes across a network of fuel storage and distribution sites in Australia. The role is Brisbane-based with monthly overnight travel, supporting operations from Cairns to Tasmania and Western Australia when required.

You will partner with operations teams to strengthen safety culture, ensure compliance with legislation, and coach frontline staff across a blue-collar workforce and contractors in a high‑hazard environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety is mandatory.
• Diploma in Work Health & Safety is highly regarded.
• Previous HSSE/HSE/WH S Advisor experience required.
• Experience in high‑risk industrial environments desired.
• Strong knowledge of contractor management and safety systems.
• Willingness to travel across Australia on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities

• Drive proactive safety culture across multiple sites.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and safety observations.
• Support contractor management and compliance activities.
• Review SWMS, risk assessments and permit processes.
• Deliver HSSE coaching, toolbox talks and communications.
• Coordinate training and competency assessments.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Advise leaders on HSSE matters and legislative obligations.
• Contribute to development and improvement of HSSE systems.
• Monitor safety performance and identify risk reduction opportunities.
