Job summary

Stride seeks a Part-time Mental Health clinician in Geelong, VIC, offering 4 days per week until 24 December 2027. The role delivers contemporary clinical services, including assessments, brief interventions, and evaluation for young people.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, provide brief interventions to waitlisted youths, and conduct intake assessments as required. The position includes salary packaging options, meals/entertainment allowance, and leave loading.

Qualifications

• Must have one of: General or Provisional AHPRA registration as Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Nurse or Social Worker with AASW.
• Demonstrated ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team and provide consultation.
• Knowledge of Brief Intervention Models of Care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical services assessments, brief intervention treatment and evaluation.
• Provide Brief Interventions (up to 6 sessions) for mild-moderate cases.
• Participate in mental health team for assessment, case coordination, intervention or group work.
• Provide Brief Interventions to youths on waitlists for Private Providers and plan handovers.
• Complete intake assessments as required.

Role overview:

• Deliver contemporary level of profession specific clinical services assessment, clinical brief intervention treatment and evaluation
• Brief Intervention Model of care; up to 6 session for those mild-moderate, short term, goal orientated focused psychological therapy
• Participate as a member of the mental health team in providing comprehensive mental health assessment, case coordination, intervention or group work as required; with specific responsibility to provide Brief Interventions to a Case Load of young people
• Provide Brief Interventions to young people on the waitlist for Private Providers; in accordance with Treatment Recommendations made at Case Review; short term therapy goals required and handover to allocated Private Provider, session planning and case review and or closure process where clinically indicated
• Complete Intake Assessments as required

Requirements:

• Must have one of the following: General or Provisional AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Nurse OR Social Worker with AASW registration/eligibility
• Demonstrated highly competent level of knowledge and skill to undertake routine clinical practice with a comprehensive understanding within the continuum of care.
• Demonstrated ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team utilising comprehensive communication skills to establish effective partnerships and provide consultation to the team as well as government and other non-government service providers.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to the professional development of self and others through education, professional networking and application of evidence based practice.
• Demonstrating a comprehensive level of profession specific knowledge, expertise and skill; specifically Brief Intervention Models of Care
• Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC
• Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
