Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking two fixed-term Bridge Engineers to join the Parramatta team. You will evaluate existing bridges through structural analysis, providing expert technical advice and supporting asset decisions with risk management and safety focus.

In this role you will perform pre-test and post-test analysis for heavy load bridge testing, peer review external bridge assessment reports, and develop engineering solutions to improve durability and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent, Chartership or professional experience, and a current Australian driver licence.
• Experience evaluating bridges, interpreting structural performance and providing evidence-based engineering advice.
• Experience in bridge assessments, load testing analysis and technical peer reviews.

• You will peer review external bridge assessment reports to support sound decisions, effective risk management and reliable asset performance.
• You will assess structures, develop engineering solutions and manage technical risk to support informed investment and asset decisions.

2x Fixed-Term positions until December 2028 based in Parramatta.

About you

• Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering qualification or equivalent, relevant professional experience or Chartership, and a current Australian driver licence.
• You're recognised as a trusted technical specialist, skilled at evaluating bridges, interpreting structural performance and providing evidence-based engineering advice.
• You bring experience in bridge assessments, load testing analysis and technical peer reviews to improve safety, durability and compliance outcomes.
