Job summary

Cleanaway Waste Management is seeking a Branch Manager to helm a high-performing waste processing facility in Australia. You will lead site operations, champion safety, and drive continuous improvement with autonomy and accountability.

You will develop teams, manage budgets and forecast performance, partner with Commercial and Finance to optimise processes, and deliver strong safety and environmental outcomes for customers and communities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong operational management experience in liquid, material and hazardous waste collection or manufacturing or logistics operations.
• A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving abilities, and a track record of implementing practical operational improvements.
• Hold a suitable qualification in chemistry, engineering, or equivalent experience in a heavy industrial operational or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Champion a culture of safety and compliance through proactive initiatives, robust systems, and continuous improvement programs.
• Ensure effective performance management, talent development, and succession planning to drive engagement, capability, and retention across operational teams.
• Partner closely with Commercial and Finance teams to enhance data integrity, optimise processes, and support strategic market growth.
• Oversee the operational and financial performance of the site including P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Monitor and manage operational expenses, implementing efficiency and cost‑reduction programs that increase profitability while maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
