Qualifications

• Citizenship is required to be eligible for employment with the Department.
• Pre-employment checks including National Police Check, referee checks and medical clearance as required.
• Desirable qualifications include GIS and basic financial processing experience.
• Additional requirements include a valid Australian driver's licence and outdoor/office work flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Stocktaking living collections: plant identification, mapping, tagging and labelling; database updating; herbarium work; liaising with horticultural staff; supervising volunteers.
• Processing biological material and research permits: checking plants and database records; stakeholder liaison; providing plant material.
• Supporting collections and conservation management through checking plants, propagation material collection, database reporting and record updating.
• Overseeing Growing Friends propagation material collections and reviewing propagation requests; providing operational support.
• Responding to public and staff enquiries about the collection: database records, living plants, identification work, stakeholder liaison.
