Job summary

Fetch Recruitment is seeking a proactive Bookkeeper for a Somerton-based commercial construction team. This is an office-based, full-time role on-site, with a flexible start/finish time and everyday presence in the office.

You will manage end-to-end bookkeeping, payroll, cashflow and reporting using Xero, while building real relationships with project managers and site teams. Up to $140k plus super, with a supportive, down-to-earth culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in bookkeeping/financial control/accounting.
• Confident using Xero or similar accounting software.
• Construction industry experience is valued but not essential.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end bookkeeping including A/P and A/R.
• Process payroll and ensure on-time payments.
• Manage cashflow and day-to-day financial administration.
• Prepare financial reports using Xero or similar software.
• Provide general office and admin support as needed.

Bookkeeper – Commercial Construction
Up to $140k + Super
Somerton | Office-Based, Every Day | Flexible Start/Finish time

Our client, a well-established and growing commercial builder, is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their close-knit office team. This role is all about finding someone who brings real energy and personality to the business — not someone who wants to disappear behind a screen. You'll be working alongside a genuine, fun and down-to-earth team who value someone who's happy to get up from their desk, head out to site, and build real relationships with the builders and project managers.

If you love numbers but also love people — someone who's just as comfortable running the finances as they are chatting with the team over a coffee or popping out to a site to catch up face-to-face — this could be the perfect fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end bookkeeping including accounts payable and receivable
• Process payroll and ensure workers are paid accurately and on time
• Manage cashflow and day-to-day financial administration
• Prepare financial reporting using Xero (or equivalent accounting software)
• Provide general office and administrative support as needed
• Build genuine relationships with project managers and site teams, including regular contact and site visits

About You

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Bookkeeper, Financial Controller or Accountant
• Confident using Xero or similar accounting software
• Construction industry experience (or an adjacent trade/project-based industry) highly regarded, but not essential
• A genuine, outgoing personality — someone who enjoys people as much as numbers
• Comfortable getting out from behind the desk and building relationships face-to-face
• Reliable, hands-on and happy to be part of a close, energetic team culture
