Job summary

BDO Australia is seeking an experienced accounts assistant to handle core accounting and administrative tasks for a range of clients, including bookkeeping, reconciliation, payroll, and BAS preparation.

In this role you will code bank data, manage accounts payable/receivable, assist with month-end close, and produce management reports using Excel. Two years in accounting and proficiency with Xero and MYOB are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least two years' experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
• Experience with Xero and MYOB.
• Strong MS Office and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Bank data coding and reconciliations.
• Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable & Payroll.
• Weekly and Month end reporting, including month end close procedures and adjustment journals.
• Working papers preparation.
• Preparation of monthly / quarterly management accounts.
• Budget preparation and monitoring.
• Administration support including correspondence with clients and suppliers.
• Preparing specific reporting and excel documents.
• Business Activity statements preparation.

About the Role

The role is responsible for the core accounting and administrative processes of a variety of clients including bookkeeping, preparation of periodic accounts, account reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and submission of the PAYG, BAS, superannuation payroll taxes as required.

What you’ll need to succeed:
