Job summary

BDO Australia in Hobart is seeking a motivated accountant/bookkeeper to manage core accounting and administrative processes for a variety of clients, including bookkeeping, periodic accounts, reconciliations, payables, receivables, payroll and statutory submissions.

You will work with Xero and MYOB, produce monthly reports, assist with BAS and superannuation payroll taxes, and support clients and suppliers with clear communication.

Qualifications

  • Two years’ experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Experience with Xero and MYOB.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and fast learner.

  • Weekly and Monthly end reporting, including month end close procedures and adjustment journals
  • Working papers preparation
  • Preparation of monthly / quarterly management accounts
  • Budget preparation and monitoring
  • Administration support including correspondence with clients and suppliers
  • Preparing specific reporting and Excel documents
  • Business Activity statements preparation

About The Role

The role is responsible for the core accounting and administrative processes of a variety of clients including bookkeeping, preparation of periodic accounts, account reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and submission of the PAYG, BAS, superannuation payroll taxes as required.

An Overview Of Your Responsibilities Is As Follows
  • Bank data coding and reconciliations
  • Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable & Payroll
  • Weekly and Month end reporting, including month end close procedures and adjustment journals
  • Working papers preparation
  • Preparation of monthly / quarterly management accounts
  • Budget preparation and monitoring
  • Administration support including correspondence with clients and suppliers
  • Preparing specific reporting and excel documents
  • Business Activity statements preparation
What You’ll Need To Succeed
  • At least two years’ experience in accounting and bookkeeping
  • Experience with Xero and MYOB
