Job summary

Accurate Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Welder in Clontarf to join an established trade team in a busy structural steel workshop. You will perform MIG welding on structural steel components and read drawings to tight tolerances, with a 6:00 am to 4:00 pm shift and a pay rate of $50.00 per hour.

Ideal candidates hold a Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) and can pass a practical weld test, with preference for those experienced in structural steel fabrication.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a practical weld test.
• Confident reading structural steel/fabrication drawings.
• Physically capable of sustained hands-on trade work.
• Background in structural steel fabrication highly regarded.
• Overhead crane, forklift, or dogging/rigging tickets highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• MIG weld structural steel components to a high standard.
• Mark out and set out fabrications from drawings to tight tolerances.
• Fit and assemble beams, columns, cleats, base plates and trusses — tack before weld-out.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols and cutting lists.
• Managing distortion control and weld sequencing on larger fabrications.
• Working independently from shop drawings with minimal supervision.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe workshop.
