Delta Electricity is seeking a qualified Boilermaker for Vales Point Power Station on NSW’s Central Coast. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on large boilers, while mentoring apprentices and ensuring safety standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified Boilermaker with apprenticeship and trade certificate.

Vales Point Power Station is a major coal-fired generator within the NSW energy market, operating complex, large-scale systems that demand deep technical expertise and disciplined maintenance practices. The work performed here plays a critical role in maintaining plant integrity and supporting safe, reliable electricity generation.

What You’ll Do

• Preventative Maintenance: You'll inspect and maintain our large and complex plant to ensure these vital systems run smoothly and efficiently
• Upgrades and Installations: You'll enhance and improve existing boilers and equipment aiming to ensure a seamless and efficient power supply while driving innovation and performance
• Troubleshooting and Repair: You'll diagnose and resolve performance issues and mechanical failures ensuring repairs are done efficiently to minimise downtime
• Technical Guidance: You'll guide and mentor apprentices and other team members, while also collaborating with and monitoring contractor workers to ensure quality and efficiency when required
• Process Improvements: You'll assess current maintenance practices and propose strategies to boost efficiency and drive better performance
• Safety and Compliance: You'll prioritise safety in every task, rigorously adhering to company standards and legal requirements to ensure the safest possible work environment

What You’ll Bring

• You are a qualified Boilermaker and have had the opportunity to hone your skills in real-world settings since completing your apprenticeship and obtaining your trade certificate
• You bring expertise in welding, with pressure welding experience and/or relevant qualifications (e.g. AS 1796 Cert 7) or a willingness to obtain these qualifications
• You bring in-depth knowledge of modern power stations or other heavy industry and have an interest in working with large process plant
• You're an analytical problem-solver who prides yourself on precision, quality, and attention to detail
• You are equally effective working collaboratively with others or handling tasks independently
• You thrive in high-pressure environments, consistently delivering safe, high-quality work on time
• You're a team player who values mentoring and supporting others to succeed
• You enjoy building relationships across all levels and have outstanding communication skills
• You are dedicated to both process and personal safety, ensuring that all activities meet the highest standards and compliance requirements
