Job summary

Pengelly Trucks and Trailers in Toowoomba is seeking a qualified Boilermaker/Welder to join our expanding heavy vehicle, building construction, fit out and maintenance team. Reporting to the Panel Shop Manager, you will perform aluminium, TIG and MIG welding, alterations, fit outs and repairs on trucks and trailers.

The ideal candidate will have trade qualification, experience reading engineered drawings, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Trade Qualified Boilermaker / welder essential.
• Aluminium TIG and MIG welding essential.
• Experience in stainless steel fabrication – vehicle accessory manufacturing highly regarded.
• Experience in construction welding with marking and setting out capabilities.
• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings.
• Current motor vehicle licence.
• High Risk Work Licence (LF) preferrable.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and welding of heavy vehicle parts, and accessories
• Welding of construction components - structural steel, beams, columns, and metal frames
• Repair and maintenance of trucks and trailers
• Working independently to resolve technical issues
• Compiling and maintaining records for work performed.
