Job summary

JD Fabrication & Welding Services Pty Ltd, based in Deception Bay, QLD, is seeking a qualified boilermaker/fabricator to work on handrails, trailers and custom fabrication projects. You will join a family-owned team, performing a mix of workshop and site-based fabrication across South East Queensland, with emphasis on high standards, safety and teamwork.

Previous experience with drawings, weld procedures and reading engineering drawings is essential; forklift would be an advantage.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in boilermaking/fabrication/welding or related trade.
• Competent welding of steel, stainless and aluminium.
• Manual driver licence and reliable transport to workshop.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to follow weld procedures and maintain high standards.
• Experience with handrails and trailer building is highly regarded.
• Forklift licence would be an advantage.
• Confidence with site work and installations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
• Commitment to OH&S and safe working environment.
• Ability to work unsupervised and in a team, with flexibility.

JD Fabrication & Welding Services is a family owned and operated business based in Deception Bay, QLD. We work across a wide range of fabrication and welding projects, including handrails and structures, civil machinery repairs, tiny home skids, trailer manufacturing, high-end custom aluminium gates and screens, and custom fabrication projects for businesses and the public.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced boilermaker/fabricator who can confidently work on handrails, trailers and custom fabrication projects. This role would suit someone who is reliable, practical, and able to think outside the box when working through custom jobs and one-off builds.

About the role:

• Mixture of workshop and site-based work across South East Queensland
• Fabrication, welding, trailer building, handrails, structures, repairs and custom projects
• Working both independently and as part of a team

To be successful, you will need:

• Trade Certificate - a relevant Trade Certificate in Boilermaking, Fabrication, Welding, or a related trade
• Competent in welding of steel, stainless and aluminium
• Manual driver licence and reliable transport to and from the workshop
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Ability to follow company weld procedures and complete work to a high standard
• Experience with handrails and trailer building would be highly regarded
• Forklift licence would be an advantage
• Confidence carrying out site work and installations
• Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
• Commitment to OH&S requirements and maintaining a safe working environment
• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
