Job summary

MIGAS Apprentices and Trainees – Ipswich QLD is partnering with Bradken to offer a four-year Boilermaker Apprenticeship in Ipswich. You will learn metal fabrication, grinding, welding, and assembly under experienced tradespeople.

This workshop-based role runs Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, with above award wages, paid weekly, and access to personalised mentoring plus government subsidy payments up to $2,500 during the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and interest in fabrication and welding.
• Be fit and able to work in hot environments.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Desirable: completed Year 12 and pre-apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with fabrication, assembly, repairs, and construction of metal and steel products.
• Perform grinding, welding, thermal cutting, and fitting tasks
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, and equipment
• Maintain a clean and organised work area
• Follow WHS requirements, company policies, and procedures
• Work effectively with tradespeople and the wider team
