Job summary

Engineering Trades Australia is sourcing qualified Boilermakers for multiple roles across mining, shutdowns and heavy industrial sites in the Port Kembla/Illawarra area. The positions include work on the No.6 Blast Furnace reline project and a two-day shutdown with long shifts.

Local candidates are preferred and travel allowances are not offered. Start times vary by job: 6am for shutdowns and 7am for daily project work, with long 10–12 hour shifts during shutdowns.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification & tickets relevant to boilermaking.
• Shutdown, mining or heavy industry experience preferred.
• Whitecard and PPE in good standing.
• Lockout procedures knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Attend shutdowns and project work across Illawarra region.
• Work on blast furnace reline and other heavy plant tasks.
• Meet at contractor's yard and travel as a crew.
• Adhere to safety and site-specific rules.

Multiple positions available for Boilermakers across mining, shutdowns, and heavy industrial sites

If you are a Qualified Boilermaker with experience with Maintenance Shutdowns, Mining or Heavy Plant & industry then this opportunity may interest you

For trade qualified Boilermakers there is fourimmediately availablepositions working on the No.6 Blast Furnace reline project, working Monday to Saturday in a fulltime capacity, for a minimum of three months duration. There is additional work available on a two day shutdown running next week, August 17-18th - shifts are 10-12hours each day

All work is based in Port Kembla and around the Illawarra area, and without LAFA or travel allowances offered, are best suited to those living locally or within a comfortable driving distance

• BlueScope Steelworks, Coke Ovens - August 11-12th (2 Days)
• BlueScope Steelworks, Sinterplant - August 18-19th (2 Days)
• And many more, approaching the November to February peak period

General Details

• Start Times: 6am for Shutdowns, 7am for daily project work
• Work Hours: Shutdown Shifts are 10-12 hours, Project work is 8-10 hours
• Durations: Shutdowns run for days to weeks
• Meet Point: You meet at the contractor's local yard, and shuttled to and from the work site as a crew

Pay: Casual Hourly Rate + Overtime + Allowances + Super - No ABN offered

Boilermaker & Fitter Trades: Casual rate $52.50 / Overtime $75.00 / Double-time $100.00

Riggers: Casual rate $48.00 / Overtime $72.00 / Double-time $96.00

Criteria

• Trade Qualification & Tickets, valid and relevant
• Previous Shutdowns, Mining or Heavy industry experience
• Working at heights (valid within 2 years)
• Confined Space, desirable (valid within 2 years)
• Current CV + One contactable, relevant reference
• Whitecard & full PPE
• Own lockout locks x 2
• BlueScope Complyflow accreditation desirable
• Ideally be living locally
