Heidelberg Materials Australia is seeking an experienced Boilermaker for fixed plant maintenance at the Nerang Quarry on the Gold Coast. The role involves 12-hour shifts, Monday to Friday with a half-day Saturday, and a base rate of $42.66 per hour plus penalties and allowances.

The ideal candidate will have Boilermaker/Fitter qualifications, current Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets, and strong safety focus. MIG and Stick welding for fixed plant maintenance are key responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experienced boilermaker with fixed plant maintenance background including crushers, conveyors.
• Trades qualified in fitter/boilermaker preferred.
• Hold current Confined Space and Working at Heights qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair fixed plant equipment (crushers, conveyors, etc.).
• Perform risk assessments and develop lift plans where required.
• Work across on-site and workshop environments.

Job description

Boilermaker | Nerang, Queensland

Heidelberg Materials Australia are looking to recruit an experienced Boilermaker to perform maintenance activities at our Nerang Quarry, located on the Gold Coast.

This is a permanent full-time role with plenty of overtime available.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about safety, results focused and has a strong work ethic. This is a hand-on position, getting right into all facets of fixed plant maintenance.

About the Role:

• 12hr shifts Mon-Fri, plus a half day Saturday
• Base rate is $42.66, plus penalties and allowances.
• MIG and Stick welding doing fixed plant maintenance and repairs.
• Metal work: fabrication, cutting, grinding, drilling, etc.
• On-site work and workshop work.
• Conduct risk assessments (including rescue & lift plans).
• Conduct routine fixed plant inspections.

Background and Experience required:

• Applicants will need to be experienced in crusher, screening, conveyor repairs (fixed plant maintenance background)
• Preferences are for trades qualified in fitter/boilermaker
• Will need to be fit – constant manual handling
• Willingness to listen and learn
• Must be reliable
• Hold a current drivers license
• Are committed to Zero Harm and a safe working culture
• Knowledge and understanding of safety systems, work methods and risk assessments.
• Hold current Confined Space and Working at Heights qualifications
• Other tickets will be highly regarded: Current First Aid Certificate. EWP, Dogging/Rigging.
